Job summary

Tieto is seeking an embedded software specialist to join our Poznań, Poland team. You will maintain the DU gNB software in C, covering PHY, MAC and RLC, and collaborate with R&D on issues found on the hardware platform.

You will triage trouble reports, determine software-related problems, and forward fixes to the R&D team, while supporting other support levels. The role also uses scripts to analyze data and requires Linux CLI proficiency and strong English.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in LTE or 5G protocol, especially Uu interface.
• Understanding of UE attach procedure.
• Troubleshooting experience in 4G/5G networks.
• Linux terminal proficiency for file operations and navigation.
• Ability to read and understand code written in C.
• Higher technical education in Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge within IT/telecommunication area.
• Ability to organize your own work and be proactive.
• Open to knowledge sharing and supporting other team members.
• Very good English, written and spoken.
• Sense of humor and willingness to stay long-term.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the DU gNB software, including PHY, MAC and RLC layers, in C.
• Triage trouble reports and identify software-related issues.
• Forward fixes to the dedicated R&D team and coordinate with testers.
• Cooperate with labs and testers for validating new software.
• Use scripts to analyze large volumes of data.
