Job summary
SMEC Pakistan is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer (Tunnel) for a dam and hydropower project in Swat, KPK, Pakistan. You will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising tunnel construction, including excavation, lining, shotcrete, rock bolts, and grouting, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years' experience in tunnel projects, strong site supervision skills, and a track record in consultancy environments.
Qualifications
- B.Sc/BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in tunnel construction or hydropower projects.
- Experience supervising tunnel excavation, support systems, shotcrete, rock bolting, and lining.
- Knowledge of tunnelling methods, geotechnical conditions, construction specs, and QC procedures.
- Strong site supervision, reporting, and coordination skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising tunnel construction activities.
- Monitor progress and ensure work complies with drawings, specs, and methods.
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate with contractors on technical issues.
- Review method statements, inspection/test plans, and submittals for tunnel works.
- Monitor geological conditions during excavation and maintain site records.
