SMEC Pakistan seeks a seasoned Material Engineer for a dam and hydropower project in Swat, KP. You will oversee material testing, QC, and compliance, coordinating with labs, engineers, and suppliers to assure quality concrete, cement, aggregates, and steel for critical works.

With 10+ years in large-scale infra, you will drive QA processes, maintain documentation, and ensure safety and regulatory adherence on site.

Qualifikationen

• Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. B.Sc/BS in Geology).
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Material Engineer on dam/hydropower or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials: concrete, cement, aggregates, steel, geotechnical materials.
• Experience in material testing, quality assurance, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.
• Familiarity with construction standards, testing methods, and quality management procedures.
• Strong analytical, technical reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Oversee material sourcing, inspection, testing, and quality control for the project.
• Ensure construction materials comply with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to assess material quality and suitability for construction activities.
• Coordinate material testing with laboratories and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation of test results, certifications, approvals, and QC records.
• liaise with project engineers, contractors, suppliers and testing labs to ensure timely availability and quality of materials.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements related to material handling, testing, and storage.
• Provide technical advice on materials performance for dam and hydropower construction.
