A technology solutions company based in Lahore is seeking a Tech Support Engineer (Java) to provide L3 production support for large-scale systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in Java development and a strong SRE mindset, focusing on incident management and automation. Responsibilities include resolving incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and enhancing system performance. This role operates in a rotational shift model and offers opportunities for continuous learning in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Java development, production support, SRE or DevOps roles.
• 2–5 years of experience in Java development, production support, SRE or DevOps roles.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, JVM performance and production debugging.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 production support for large-scale systems.
• Own and resolve P1/P2 incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Improve system reliability and automate processes.
• Develop hotfixes, patches and configuration changes.
• Improve system reliability, observability, performance and scalability.
• Automate and reduce operational toil; design monitoring, alerts, dashboards.
• Analyze logs, metrics and distributed traces; create/runbooks and incident playbooks.

About the Role

We are looking for a Tech Support Engineer (Java) with a strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to provide L3 production support for large-scale, distributed systems. The role operates in a rotational (Afternoon / Evening) multi-shift environment and focuses on incident management, system reliability, observability, root cause analysis (RCA) and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L3 production support
• Own and resolve P1/P2 incidents within defined SLAs
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident bridges
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
• Debug and enhance Java-based applications and microservices
• Develop hotfixes, patches, and configuration changes
• Improve system reliability, availability, performance and scalability
• Reduce operational toil through automation and tooling
• Design and maintain monitoring, alerting and dashboards
• Analyze logs, metrics, and distributed traces
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs and incident playbooks
• Contribute to blameless post-incident reviews
