Smart Working is seeking a Senior Full Stack / Applied AI Engineer to join a small, high‑impact team working at the intersection of product engineering and AI‑driven solutions. You’ll own features from idea to production across backend, frontend, architecture, and AI capabilities.

You’ll prototype quickly, apply solid engineering judgment, and balance rapid delivery with long‑term quality in a remote‑first, low‑structure environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python production experience.
• 5+ years in system design and architecture.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• 3+ years frontend with React and modern JS/HTML.
• 3+ years API integration including AI/data services.
• 3+ years end-to-end feature ownership.
• Experience with databases and data modelling.
• Strong SDLC knowledge and code quality standards.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments.
• Proven rapid prototyping and delivery in pace.

Responsibilities

• Translate stakeholder requirements into structured solutions and user flows.
• Design system architecture focusing on scalability, maintainability and security.
• Build and deliver end-to-end frontend and backend features with full ownership.
• Prototype AI-enabled solutions and evolve them into production systems.
• Improve and scale an existing Python-based application and address backlog.
• Define UX flows and usability improvements (user journeys, not visuals).
• Integrate with APIs including AI-driven services and data flows.
