Job summary

Smart Working is hiring to design, build, and enhance an AI-powered education platform. You will own features from concept through delivery and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the product using customer insights and data-driven decisions.

The role focuses on full-stack development with Rails, HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Hotwire, and modern AI tooling, with responsibilities spanning frontend and backend work and a strong emphasis on UX quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience developing full-stack applications using Ruby on Rails.
• 3+ years' experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Hotwire stack.
• 3+ years' solid working knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• 2+ years' hands-on experience using AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude, Codex) and other coding-agent tooling.
• 2+ years' experience with strong product sense and UX judgement, enabling near pixel-perfect UIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack features on a Ruby on Rails application.
• Use AI tooling throughout the development lifecycle for planning, prototyping, and code review.
• Participate in AI-assisted code reviews before deployment.
• Gather customer requirements and review product usage data to inform development.
