Job summary

Rashid Latif Khan Group in Lahore is seeking a skilled surgeon to join our department and provide high-quality surgical care across OPD, ED, wards and operating theatres. The role involves performing procedures under consultant supervision, supervising trainees, ensuring documentation, and coordinating with ICU, anesthesia, radiology, and other teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

You must hold MBBS and FCPS in Surgery with PMDC/PMC registration.

Qualifications

• Must hold MBBS and FCPS in Surgery.
• PMDC/PMC registration is required.
• 3–4 years of surgical experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage surgical patients in OPD, ED, wards and operating theatres.
• Perform surgical procedures under consultant supervision when required.
• Assist consultants during elective and emergency surgeries.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and develop patient management plans.
• Monitor patients before and after surgery and manage complications.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records.
• Supervise Medical Officers, House Officers, and postgraduates.
• Ensure timely discharge summaries and operative notes.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Coordinate with ICU, ED, Anesthesia, Radiology, and other specialties for comprehensive patient care.
• Provide clinical teaching and supervision to House Officers and trainees.
• Participate in case presentations, journal clubs, and CME sessions.
• Support research activities and clinical audits within the department.
• Participate in the departmental on-call roster and respond to surgical emergencies.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform surgical procedures within the approved scope of practice under consultant supervision when required.
• Assist consultants during elective and emergency surgeries.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Supervise Medical Officers, House Officers, and postgraduate trainees.
• Ensure timely completion of discharge summaries, operative notes, and clinical documentation.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.

Teaching & Training

• Provide clinical teaching and supervision to House Officers, Medical Officers, and trainees.
• Participate in academic activities, including case presentations, journal clubs, and CME sessions.
• Support research activities and clinical audits within the department.

Emergency & On-Call Duties

• Participate in the departmental on-call roster.
• Respond promptly to surgical emergencies.
• Coordinate with ICU, Emergency Department, Anesthesia, Radiology, and other specialties for comprehensive patient care.
