Job summary

RLK in Pakistan seeks a Senior Registrar in Oncology to lead specialized clinical management with consultant supervision. The role includes supervising junior staff, performing advanced oncology procedures, and contributing to teaching, training, and multidisciplinary care.

Candidates should hold MBBS and Level III postgraduate qualifications in Oncology (FCPS/MD/MS) with PMDC registration; clinical experience in a teaching hospital is a plus and PMDC compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty is required.
• No additional teaching experience or research publications are prescribed for Senior Registrar when Level III qualification is held.
• Clinical experience in a recognized teaching hospital in Medical Oncology/Oncology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Specialized Clinical Management: Manage specialty-specific cases with increasing autonomy under consultant supervision.
• Supervision of Junior Staff: Oversee medical officers, house officers, and trainees in patient care activities.
• Advanced Procedures: Perform specialty-related procedures and assist in complex surgical/clinical interventions.
• Emergency Response Leadership: Lead emergency response within the department and ensure timely interventions.
• Ward Rounds & Case Presentations: Conduct ward rounds and present cases to consultants with clinical insights.
• Teaching & Training: Actively participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
• Clinical Documentation: Ensure detailed and accurate patient records and case summaries.
• Research & Academic Contribution: Participate in clinical research, audits, and publications as per PMDC requirements.
• Quality Improvement: Contribute to morbidity & mortality meetings and departmental audits.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with other departments for referrals and multidisciplinary care.
• Compliance & Ethics: Ensure adherence to PMDC regulations, hospital policies, and ethical standards.
• General Responsibility: Any other task assigned by the management.

Job description

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council PM&DC.
• FCPS / MD / MS or other equivalent Level III postgraduate qualification in Oncology, recognized by PM&DC.
• Valid PM&DC registration with the relevant postgraduate qualification duly registered/recognized.

Experience

• Postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty is required.
• As per PM&DC Teaching Regulations, no additional teaching experience or research publications are prescribed for appointment as Senior Registrar when the candidate possesses the required Level III postgraduate qualification in the respective specialty.
• Clinical experience in a recognized teaching hospital/institution in Medical Oncology/Oncology will be considered an advantage.
