Job summary

World Business Lenders is seeking a Senior Credit Underwriter to lead complex non-QM mortgage underwriting, mentoring junior staff and driving policy improvements. You will balance risk with profitability while guiding decisions for the Chief Lending Officer and cross-functional partners.

In this fully remote, full-time contractor role, you will analyze borrower scenarios, develop structured solutions, and help scale funded loan volume.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in Non-QM residential mortgage lending.
• Proven expertise in credit analysis, risk assessment, and loan structuring.
• Strong knowledge of Non-QM loan products and mortgage regulations (ATR/QM, TRID, RESPA, TILA).

Responsibilities

• Act as the Chief Lending Officer's right hand advisor and lead complex underwriting.
• Mentor junior underwriters and drive underwriting process improvements.
• Analyze borrower scenarios, structure loans, and support profitable decisions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Processing, Valuation, Legal, and Closing teams.
• Document underwriting decision logic to support automation efforts.
