Job summary

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) invites a qualified Law graduate to join its Legal department in Karachi. The role focuses on protecting the company’s interests in lawsuits and responds to stakeholder complaints filed via the Wafaqi Mohtasib office.

The candidate will coordinate with internal departments and external counsel, draft pleadings, vet legal documents, and ensure proper representation at hearings, supporting risk management and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Law graduate with 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years of Bar enrollment.
• Experience handling litigations and court proceedings within jurisdiction.
• Proficient in legal drafting, filings, and case preparation.

Responsibilities

• Gather amendments to laws and present to supervisor for review.
• Coordinate with Head Office to collect documents for litigation.
• Assist in forming legal opinions on referred issues.
• Provide case details and company perspective to external counsel.
• Assist in drafting and filing Vakalatnama for counsel appointments.
• Coordinate with external counsel to initiate and follow up lawsuits.
• Represent the company in hearings and document proceedings.
• Prepare, vet, publish, and serve legal notices.
• Identify and assess litigation risks and report to management.
• Guide junior staff in drafting and pleadings.
