Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Branch Banking Officer / Senior Branch Banking Officer to join its retail banking team. This role involves managing various branch operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other internal policies. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years' experience in branch operations and cash handling, strong knowledge of retail banking products and services, and proficiency in cash management and reconciliation processes. The position requires a candidate who is professional, service-oriented, and capable of executing daily branch tasks with strict adherence to security and regulatory standards.

In this role, the officer will be responsible for processing cash deposits and withdrawals, managing remittances including pay orders and demand drafts, and handling online transactions within defined limits. The officer will also oversee the issuance and encashment of time deposits, manage cheque books and debit cards, and ensure timely cash reconciliation daily. Vigilance in safeguarding keys and sensitive assets like vaults and ATMs is essential, along with maintaining operational excellence by meeting turnaround times and complying with internal service measures. Although this role does not include managing a team, it requires close collaboration with branch staff to maintain smooth and secure branch operations.

Responsibilities

• Process cash deposit receipts in local and foreign currencies, utility bill payments, and withdrawals, verifying the authenticity of currency notes and financial instruments.
• Initiate and process remittances such as pay orders, demand drafts, and fund transfers following prescribed procedures.
• Accept and process online deposits and payments, manage inward and outward clearing, and authorize transactional postings within assigned financial and non-financial limits.
• Handle lodgment and settlement of outstanding bank cheques, stop payment requests, and assist in inward and outward foreign currency remittances.
• Issue and encash time deposits, manage issuance and balancing of cheque books and debit cards, and process account openings when required.
• Balance cash currency daily against receipts and withdrawals, update the Cash Book, sort and prepare cut and soiled notes for submission or dispatch in adherence to currency management regulations.
• Manage daily replenishment, scroll maintenance, balancing, and reporting of branch ATMs, including timely settlement of ATM claims.
• Ensure all branch transactions are conducted in line with bank policies, operational manuals, and strict compliance with KYC and AML regulations.
• Maintain strict vigilance and secure handling of keys to the safe, vault, and ATM, ensuring proper custodianship recording during any changes.
• Understand and comply with Internal Service Measures (ISMs) to process transactions within defined turnaround times (TATs) to ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach while engaging with customers and handling branch operations.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes related to branch operations and cash management to ensure ongoing compliance.
