Job summary

Motive is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to own accurate and timely billing operations across the quote-to-cash process. You will investigate discrepancies, coordinate cross-functional resolution, and ensure documentation quality for all billing adjustments.

You will manage lender invoicing, tax issues, and complex contracts, while supporting enterprise billing and high-volume cycles with strong analytical and communication skills. A flexible work model aligns with our global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field is mandatory.
• 2–3+ years of experience in billing, payments, accounts receivable, finance operations, or a related function.
• Strong understanding of billing operations, payment flows, refunds, credits, cancellations, account reconciliation, and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee account billing status and the complete billing cycle by researching and resolving inconsistencies, reviewing billing documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Create Vendor Finance funding invoices for each lender, escalate documentation discrepancies, and resolve tax issues and funding invoice adjustments.
• Support Enterprise billing by reviewing complex contracts, validating pricing and terms, and coordinating custom invoices and billing schedules for strategic accounts.
• Manage card and ACH chargebacks end to end, including intake, investigation, evidence preparation, and outcome booking.
• Manage cancellations, early terminations, refunds, credits, write-offs, and held-to-contract fees according to policy.
• Perform billing audits and reconciliations, support month-end close and SOX-compliant audit trails.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, and Accounting to resolve cases and improve billing processes.
