Job summary

Smart Working in Pakistan is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Web Engineer to build a data-heavy, map-based product with primary frontend focus. You will also contribute to backend development, API design and data persistence alongside the AI engineer.

The role involves spatial data, large datasets, file uploads, and an AI-powered chat interface with real-time streaming; strong product thinking and practical problem-solving are essential. This is a remote-friendly, long-term opportunity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of TypeScript full-stack engineering with React on frontend and Node on backend.
• 2+ years building map-centric frontends with Mapbox GL or MapLibre/Leaflet/deck.gl.
• 3+ years delivering data-heavy production UI with tables, editors and upload flows.
• 4+ years designing backend services against Postgres with API design and auth.
• Senior-level experience with 5+ years total.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the product's core UI, including map interactions and chat UI.
• Render large feature sets on map-centric interfaces.
• Display tabular results from spatial queries.
• Handle file-upload flows within the product.
• Support backend development including API design and server persistence with the AI engineer.
• Contribute to an AI-powered chat interface and address latency issues.
