Detailed Job Description:
As a Project Director supporting telecommunications operations in Pakistan via ZTE, you will take full strategic and operational ownership of complex telecommunications project portfolios, service delivery, and regional program execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities include leading strategic corporate initiatives, steering multi-disciplinary engineering and project management teams, managing P&L statements, and cultivating executive-level relationships with tier-1 telecom operators and enterprise clients. You will collaborate closely with regional directors, global supply chain centers, and technical architecture teams to mitigate operational risks, resolve critical escalation bottlenecks, and ensure flawless project governance. Furthermore, you will drive business development efforts, mentor project management talent, and ensure adherence to rigorous corporate compliance and quality standards across Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct strategic project initiatives, major telecom deployments, and business expansion programs across Pakistan.
- Drive organizational growth, revenue optimization, and operational efficiency across telecommunications project portfolios.
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and P&L accountability.
- Cultivate and maintain high-level executive relationships with strategic enterprise clients and telecom operators.
- Mentor, lead, and develop multidisciplinary project management teams, Vice Project Directors, and senior project managers.
- Establish robust project governance frameworks, milestone tracking mechanisms, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with global engineering and supply chain units to align resource allocation and delivery schedules.
- Deliver executive status reports, board-level presentations, and strategic performance reviews.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 to 15+ years of professional project management experience, with at least 5+ years in senior executive leadership roles.
- Proven track record of successfully leading multi-million-dollar telecommunications infrastructure and network rollout projects.
- Expert-level practical mastery of project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile) and P&L financial management.
- Exceptional strategic planning, executive negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong technical understanding of wireless networks, 5G infrastructure, core networks, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with cross-cultural leadership competence.
- Mandatory legal eligibility to work in Pakistan with availability for executive travel.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Advanced postgraduate degrees such as an MBA or Master’s in Telecommunications Management.
- Professional certifications including PMP, PgMP (Program Management Professional), or PRINCE2 Practitioner.
- Prior professional experience managing large-scale turnkey projects with major multinational equipment vendors.
