Switch Communications in Islamabad is seeking an Operations Support Engineer (Linux) with around 1 year of experience to join our DevOps team on-site. You will monitor live services, perform first-level triage, and escalate incidents with urgency using Grafana, Nagios, and SolarWinds.

Responsibilities include updating tickets, maintaining clear statuses, collecting logs during incidents, and producing first-level incident summaries and shift reports.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in operations support, NOC, IT helpdesk, or monitoring.
• Foundational troubleshooting proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems alongside networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN).
• Basic practical experience working with Office 365 productivity tools and enterprise ticketing or service management systems.
• Demonstrated capability to read system logs and spot technical anomalies at a first-level triage level.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills with disciplined documentation habits.
• Exceptional capability to work accurately and calmly under pressure across multiple open support issues.
• Mandatory willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations for 24×7 telecom operations.

Mansioni

• Monitor live service health dashboards across all assigned services during shift hours.
• Identify, acknowledge, and escalating P1/P2/P3 alerts per policy with clear descriptions of issues.
• Track alerts through the incident lifecycle, keeping the ticketing system updated.
• Receive, log, triage, and classify all inbound customer and internal tickets by priority and service.
• Maintain rigorous ticket hygiene including accurate status and next actions.
• Support DevOps engineers during active incidents by gathering logs and screenshots.
• Prepare first-level incident summaries and maintain incident logs of alert, escalation, response, and resolution times.
• Prepare daily shift reports and contribute to weekly and monthly operations reports.
