Job summary

ZTE Pakistan is seeking an experienced MW Engineer – Microwave Back Office to own remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, capacity upgrades, and configuration management for microwave and IP transport networks in Quetta, Pakistan. You will work with field teams and client NOC to ensure uptime and optimal performance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in microwave transmission operations, strong ITIL familiarity, and hands-on experience with NMS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive professional hands-on experience in microwave transmission operations or back-office engineering.
• Strong operational expertise in microwave radio systems (Packet Microwave, SDH, PDH) and transmission NMS platforms.
• Knowledge of carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS transport, and synchronization protocols (SyncE, PTP).
• Experience with remote troubleshooting tools, performance counter analysis, and alarm correlation.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management and 24x7 NOC workflows.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Legal work authorization and availability for operations in Quetta, Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert back-office surveillance, remote technical support, and operational monitoring for microwave transmission and IP transport infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance counters, RSL, link availability, and alarm systems to proactively detect faults.
• Troubleshoot and resolve microwave link degradation, fading issues, clock sync faults, and hardware failures remotely.
• Execute configuration updates, capacity expansions, patches, and switching verifications across microwave nodes.
• Analyze transmission traffic, packet loss, latency, and jitter across back-office platforms.
• Collaborate with field engineers, regional supervisors, and client NOC during incidents.
• Enforce transmission security, change management, and escalation procedures.
• Maintain detailed logs, ticket histories, diagrams, and performance reports.
