Job summary

Ziauddin University seeks a capable research grants administrator to proactively identify national and international grant opportunities for faculty, clinicians, and health researchers. You will lead end-to-end grant proposal development, budgeting, compliance, and financial monitoring, ensuring timely approvals and reporting.

You will act as the primary liaison between doctors, clinical departments, and multidisciplinary faculty to advance research initiatives, with regular travel to Clifton,

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, evaluate, and track national and international research grant opportunities for university faculty and health researchers.
• Lead and provide end-to-end guidance on technical proposal writing, budgeting, compliance, submission, financial monitoring, reporting, and close-out.
• Manage end-to-end research grant lifecycle with regulatory and ethical compliance and budgetary control.
• Serve as liaison between doctors, clinicians, allied health sciences departments, and multidisciplinary faculty to foster clinical research and grant initiatives.
• Travel regularly across Ziauddin University campuses Clifton, Korangi, North Nazimabad, and Education City to support research teams and monitor grant activities.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• Master’s, MPhil, or PhD in Health Sciences, Clinical Research, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Medicine, or a closely related medical discipline with substantial experience in research operations and grant management.

Experience

• Demonstrated proficiency and proven track record in grant proposal development, technical proposal writing, and pre-/post-award lifecycle management.
• Proven capability to liaison effectively with doctors, medical consultants, allied health sciences professionals, and multidisciplinary academic faculty.
• Strong working knowledge and familiarization with Higher Education Commission HEC scorecard standards, research indicators, and ethical compliance.
• Experience in managing or supporting clinical trial grants within an academic or clinical setting will be considered a strong advantage.
• Strong project management, financial management, leadership, analytical skills, and technical writing capability.

Job Description

• Lead and demonstrate high proficiency in grant proposal development, providing end-to-end guidance to Principal Investigators PIs on technical proposal writing, budgeting, compliance, submission, financial monitoring, reporting, and close-out.
• Manage and execute the end-to-end research grant lifecycle, ensuring regulatory, ethical, and institutional compliance alongside strict budgetary management.
• Act as the primary liaison between doctors, clinicians, allied health sciences departments, and multidisciplinary faculty to facilitate collaborative clinical research and grant initiatives.
• Demonstrate high mobility with a willingness to travel regularly across Ziauddin University campuses Clifton, Korangi, North Nazimabad, and Education City to support research teams, monitor grant activities, and conduct review meetings.
• Monitor institutional research metrics and maintain comprehensive documentation aligned with Higher Education Commission HEC scorecard requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant internal departments, institutional ethics committees, external funding agencies, and research partners to ensure timely approvals, compliance, financial management, reporting, and seamless execution of research projects.
• Maintain complete records of ongoing grants, clinical trial data, research publications, and funding outcomes for internal and external audits.
• Perform other administrative, strategic, and research development duties as assigned by leadership.
