Job summary

Ziauddin University in Karachi is seeking a Research Grants Coordinator to identify and manage funding opportunities for faculty and researchers. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, budgeting, and performance tracking across a dynamic academic environment.

You will support Principal Investigators in pre- and post-award activities, coordinate with internal departments and external agencies, and travel to campuses to monitor grants and conduct reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's/Master's/MPhil in Business Management, Public Administration, Health Sciences, Clinical Research, Public Health, Biological Sciences, or a related field
• At least 1-2 years of experience in research and grant management
• Strong knowledge of Higher Education Commission (HEC) scorecard standards and research indicators
• Experience with clinical trial grants is a plus
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced academic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and experience with research, grant management, or project management systems

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and track national and international research grant opportunities for university faculty and researchers
• Manage and execute end-to-end research grant lifecycle with regulatory, ethical, and budgetary compliance
• Monitor institutional research metrics and maintain documentation aligned with HEC scorecard requirements
• Support faculty and Principal Investigators (PIs) in pre- and post-award grant management including proposal development, budgeting, submission, compliance, financial monitoring, reporting, and close-out
• Travel across Ziauddin University campuses Clifton, Korangi, North Nazimabad, and Education City to support research teams, monitor grant activities, and conduct review meetings
• Coordinate with internal departments and committees, as well as external funding agencies and research partners, to ensure timely approvals, compliance, financial management, reporting, and seamless execution of research projects and grants
• Maintain complete records of ongoing grants, research publications, and funding outcomes for internal and external audits
• Perform other administrative and research management duties as assigned by leadership
