Experience Required
5-7 years of experience in business development, commercial proposal writing, or client relationship management, preferably in professional/technical services, industrial consulting, or public/private sector project work
8+ years of prior experience in a university-based BD, ORIC, or industry-liaison office; experience preparing bids/tenders for government or industrial clients; experience coordinating multi-disciplinary technical teams on client-facing projects
Qualification
Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline (MBA/MS or equivalent)
Professional certification in business development, project management (e.g., PMP); background with a technical/engineering degree relevant to NUST's industrial services portfolio
Required Skills
- Strong business development and proposal/bid-writing skills
- Ability to conduct market intelligence and sector scans
- Client and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Project coordination skills (tracking milestones, deliverables, and risks); strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in MS Office and other Project Management Tools
- Familiarity with contractual and compliance requirements for industrial services contracts
- Sufficient technical literacy to coordinate effectively with faculty members and specialist teams
- Experience liaising with compliance/legal offices
- Report writing and KPI/dashboard tracking for management reporting
Key Responsibilities
To undertake/ support the identification, development, and execution of commercial opportunities (projects) across NUST's industrial services portfolio.
Business Development & Projects Pipeline Management
- Identify and track commercial (industrial services) opportunities across industry, government, and development sectors
- Conduct market intelligence and sector scans to identify emerging opportunities relevant to NUST's capabilities
- Maintain and update a structured pipeline of leads, proposals, and engagements
- Undertake/support preparation of commercial proposals, technical bids, and concept notes in coordination with Faculty Members (FMs) and technical teams
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a day-to-day interface with industry clients and institutional partners in ongoing projects
- Coordinate follow-ups, meetings, logistics, and stakeholder communications on behalf of NUST/ICON
Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate different project activities between client(s) and NUST's specialist teams
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines; flag risks or delays to management
- Maintain project files and ensure documentation standards are met for each active engagement
- Liaise with Commercial Compliance Office for contractual compliance requirements and reporting
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare periodic pipeline and project status reports for management
- Maintain records of all client interactions, proposal submissions, and project outcomes
- Ensure timely compliance with organization reporting requirements
Term and Conditions

- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
- Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments or Armed forces will be required to furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective parent department / organization.
- Internal candidates must obtain prior consent from their respective institution/department before applying for the position.
