Job summary

Brickstech is seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Administrator in Lahore to maintain and optimize our enterprise server environment. The role focuses on RHEL Linux administration, Nginx load balancers, VMware ESXi virtualization, and Dell SAN storage.

You will handle backups, DR, security hardening, and 24/7 operations support. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with RHEL, Nginx, VMware, and storage solutions, plus scripting skills and strong troubleshooting ability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with RHEL Linux production environments.
• Experience administering Nginx Load Balancers on RHEL VMs.
• Strong virtualization experience with VMware ESXi/vSphere.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot production RHEL Linux servers.
• Perform OS installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
• Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo, and SSH/SFTP.
• Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, boot, and application issues.
• Manage packages using RPM/YUM/DNF.
• Analyze system logs with journalctl and /var/log.
• Manage LVM, partitions, filesystems, and mount points.
• Configure and troubleshoot SELinux and firewalld.
• Perform Linux security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Administer Nginx Load Balancers: configure upstreams, virtual hosts, TLS, certificates, health checks.
• Troubleshoot Nginx errors, TLS handshakes, and connectivity with backend/services.
• Manage VMware VMs: creation, resources, and performance tuning.
• Support Dell SAN/storage provisioning and storage connectivity.
• Assist in backup and DR planning and testing.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.

Job Purpose

The Senior Linux & Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support of Tasdeeq's enterprise server and infrastructure environment, with a primary focus on RHEL Linux, Nginx Load Balancers, VMware virtualization, enterprise storage, backup, and DR.

Key Responsibilities

RHEL / Linux Administration

• Administer and troubleshoot production RHEL Linux servers
• Perform OS installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
• Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo, and SSH/SFTP
• Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, boot, and application issues
• Manage packages using RPM/YUM/DNF

Nginx Load Balancer - Mandatory

• Administer Nginx Load Balancers running on RHEL VMs
• Configure upstream servers, backend pools, and virtual hosts
• Configure HTTP/HTTPS load balancing
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates
• Generate CSRs and install/renew certificates
• Troubleshoot certificate-chain and TLS handshake issues
• Configure health checks and backend failover
• Troubleshoot 502, 503, 504, and other Nginx errors
• Analyze Nginx access and error logs
• Perform configuration changes and controlled reloads
• Troubleshoot connectivity between Nginx, backend servers, network, and firewall

VMware ESXi / vSphere

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux VMs running on VMware ESXi/vSphere
• Create and configure virtual machines
• Manage VM CPU, memory, disk, and network resources
• Troubleshoot VM performance and connectivity issues
• Understand VMware datastores and virtual disk provisioning
• Coordinate with the virtualization team for ESXi-related issues

Dell SAN / Enterprise Storage

• Support Dell enterprise SAN/storage infrastructure
• Understand LUNs, datastores, RAID, multipathing, and storage provisioning
• Troubleshoot Linux/VMware storage connectivity
• Coordinate storage allocation and expansion
• Monitor storage capacity and identify performance issues

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Support Linux server backup and restoration
• Troubleshoot backup failures
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and recovery activities
• Maintain server and service recovery documentation

Automation & Monitoring

• Strong Bash/Shell scripting skills
• Automate routine Linux administration and monitoring activities
• Basic Ansible knowledge is preferred
• Monitor server, service, and infrastructure health
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis
