Job summary

Deel seeks a technical leader to coordinate a dynamic team supporting internal tools and automation solutions. You will drive technical excellence while collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable automation across Customer Experience, Operations, and Customer Success.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on development, emphasizing API integration, low-code options, and cloud infrastructure to optimize workflows and support global payroll/HR platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or automation engineering.
• 3+ years of proven leadership or team coordination experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/JavaScript/Go).
• Experience with API development, integrations, or workflow automation.
• Ability to design and maintain scalable, reliable systems.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead day-to-day work of a technical team for internal tools and automation.
• Act as hands-on contributor while guiding team in designing, developing, and maintaining applications.
• Support system integrations and data workflows across platforms (Zendesk, Jira, WorkBench, People Assignment Manager).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver automation solutions.
• Contribute to AI initiatives by identifying workflow improvements and AI-based enhancements.
• Promote technical standards and maintain documentation for security and maintainability.
• Attend technical planning discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Monitor performance of applications and optimizations based on data and feedback.
• Aid IT, Procurement, and Security teams in evaluating tools and ensuring compliance.
