Job summary

A. F. Ferguson & Co. Chartered Accountants, a member firm of the PwC network, is hiring an IT System Administrator in Karachi to deploy and manage applications that enable our people to work efficiently and deliver high levels of service to clients.

Join our information technology team to focus on Windows Server/AD, Azure fundamentals, security, backups, and automation, while applying ITIL concepts and leveraging ServiceNow for incident and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/SE from an HEC-recognized university.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant IT experience.
• MCSE, MCSA, PMP, ITIL COBIT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Windows Server and Active Directory administration tasks.
• Manage security baselines, patching, and Azure fundamentals.
• Handle backup/restore, logging, auditing and incident response.
• Provide automation and troubleshooting using PowerShell.
• Maintain ITSM workflows with ServiceNow and monitor systems.

This campaign aims to hire an IT System Administrator for the Firm to join our information technology team based in Karachi. Windows Server & Active Directory

• Windows Server administration (2019/2022/2025)
• Active Directory Domain Services: users, groups, OUs, GPOs management
• File/print services, NTFS permissions, and access control
• Windows hardening and baseline security configuration as required
• Azure fundamentals with hands-on administration experience
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): users/groups, app registrations (basic), conditional access concepts
• Azure virtual machines and VM lifecycle (provisioning, scaling basics, monitoring)
• Storage concepts (Azure Storage accounts, basic file/blob usage) and networking basics (VNets, NSGs)

Networking & Connectivity

Security, Compliance & Operations

• Patch management and vulnerability remediation processes (Windows Update/SCCM)
• Backup and restore operations (system state, file/application recovery support)
• Logging, auditing, and investigation support using Event Logs and monitoring tools
• MFA/conditional access support and troubleshooting
• Incident/change workflow participation (ITIL concepts)

Automation & Troubleshooting

• PowerShell scripting for automation (user provisioning, reporting, patch checks, basic remediation)
• Strong troubleshooting skills using logs, event viewers, services, and network tests

Tooling & Ticketing

• Working knowledge of ITSM tools (ServiceNow)
• Monitoring/alerting and responding to incidents based on SLAs
• Experience with RDS, IIS, and Windows licensing/activation support
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware or Hyper‑V)
• Microsoft certifications: AZ‑104, AZ‑900, or equivalent Windows/AD credentials

Qualification Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university (Master’s degree would be a preference)

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years

Certification(s) Preferred: MCSE, MCSA, PMP, ITIL COBIT
