Job summary

People Perfect in Islamabad, Pakistan is seeking an IT Officer – Server Management, Network & Backup Support to maintain and secure the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across servers, networks, storage, and disaster recovery.

You will manage Windows and Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), network devices, VPNs, and firewall appliances, while implementing hardening, patches, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT infrastructure/IT support experience.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Administration.
• Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and backup solutions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job Title: IT Officer – Server Management, Network & Backup Support

Job Overview

We are hiring on behalf of a leading financial services organization for the position of IT Officer – Server Management, Network & Backup Support. The role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and administering the organization's IT infrastructure — including servers, network systems, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions — ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all systems.

Job Description

Server Management

• Manage Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
• Monitor server performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal operation
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V
• Implement server hardening, patch management, and security best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve server‑related incidents and performance issues

Network Management

• Manage LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime
• Implement network security policies and access controls
• Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for connectivity and infrastructure support
• Configure, integrate, and manage network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NPM, NMS, MRTG/PRTG)
• Manage Cisco, Huawei, Ruijie, and TP‑Link switches and APs
• Perform weekly/monthly switch backups
• Coordinate with vendors for internet and cloud services

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Manage enterprise backup solutions and schedules
• Install, configure, and manage Veeam for Office 365
• Maintain offsite backups on FTP sites
• Ensure successful backup and restoration of business‑critical systems
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Perform periodic backup verification and recovery drills
• Monitor backup storage utilization and retention policies

Infrastructure & Security

• Ensure infrastructure complies with organizational security policies
• Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities
• Support endpoint security, antivirus, and system monitoring solutions
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, asset inventory, and configuration records

Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools
• Prepare reports on system availability, incidents, capacity, backups, and security
• Maintain documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (BCS/MCS preferred)
• 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure / IT support roles
• Hands‑on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Administration, and Windows Server support
• Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, and backup solutions (Veeam, VPN, Cisco networking) preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, printers, scanners, IP phones, and end‑user IT support
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: PKR 120,000 – 160,000/month (total package inclusive of everything, before tax)
