Job summary

Sharp Brains is seeking a hands-on infrastructure intern in Lahore to work with senior IT engineers designing, deploying, monitoring, and securing the systems that power our organization. You’ll gain real experience with Linux, networking, the cloud, and automation beyond password resets.

Upon successful completion, you may transition into a permanent Junior IT Engineer or Systems Administrator role, taking ownership of critical infrastructure components and advancing toward higher levels.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, and firewall fundamentals.
• Basic proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Familiarity with any cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a strong plus.
• You love puzzles and debugging when things go down.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) on‑prem and in cloud.
• Networking: Configure routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs for connectivity.
• Cloud Operations: Manage cloud resources, VMs, containers, and storage.
• Automation & Scripting: Write scripts to automate tasks and deployments (IaC).
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor performance, uptime, and security alerts; diagnose issues.
• Security: Implement basic cybersecurity best practices and access controls.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Ensure regular backups and test recovery protocols.
