Job summary

World Food Programme is seeking an IT Operations Officer (Digital Services) to support, maintain, and optimize IT systems across Pakistan. The role focuses on delivering secure, efficient IT services aligned with WFP’s mission and IT strategy.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in information management and system development, plus fluency in English and Urdu. The position requires collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders to ensure reliable IT service delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Development or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of professional/managerial experience in information management and system development.
• Fluency in English and Urdu (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to plans and budgets and deploy IT/TC systems aligned with business needs.
• Monitor IT/TC systems and networks and ensure data security and access controls.
• Contribute to technical specs and tender documents for IT equipment and services.
• Analyze data and prepare reports on IT/TC activities and costs.
• Maintain technical expertise and stay updated on industry developments.
• Provide advisory support to managers and users and ensure IT policies are followed.
• Guide junior staff and deliver training where needed.
• Engage with internal/external customers to tailor technical solutions.
• Follow contingency planning to maintain basic IT services during crises.
• Document business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Communicate requirements to business counterparts and validate solutions against requirements.
• Manage SLAs and gather user satisfaction feedback on IT services.
• Oversee project plans, risk management, and alignment with IT governance.
• Develop and deploy IT systems compliant with WFP policies and strategy.
• Create technical documentation and ensure traceability to requirements.
• Install, configure, and migrate data between systems (e.g., SCOPE, CFM).
• Perform additional tasks as required.
