Job summary

RLK Paediatric Dentistry, Lahore, invites applications for Associate Professor or Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry (JP-410). The appointment is permanent and based at RLK’s Lahore campus, with duties in teaching and clinical supervision.

The ideal candidate will hold BDS and a PMDC-registered postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Dentistry (FCPS/MDS/PhD or equivalent) and have 2–3 years of teaching and clinical experience, plus a track record in student assessment and research.

Qualifications

  • BDS or equivalent dental qualification from a PMDC-recognized institution.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Dentistry (FCPS, MDS, PhD or equivalent) recognized by PMDC/HEC.
  • Valid PMDC registration and license.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching and clinical experience in Paediatric Dentistry at a recognized dental institution.
  • Experience in undergraduate teaching, clinical supervision, student assessment, and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Paediatric Dentistry.
  • Supervise students and postgraduate trainees in diagnosis, treatment and management of paediatric dental patients.
  • Guide students in communication, behaviour management and child-friendly care.
  • Promote preventive oral health and early intervention in children.
  • Supervise examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and management.
  • Prepare and review teaching plans, course content and learning activities in accordance with the approved curriculum and PMDC requirements.
  • Conduct and evaluate theory, practical, viva, OSPE/OSCE, clinical and other approved assessments.
  • Conduct and supervise research in Paediatric Dentistry and contribute to scholarly publications and academic development.
  • Guide students and postgraduate trainees in clinical competencies, case management, research and professional development.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of paediatric patient records, treatment plans, clinical procedures and academic documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate infection prevention, patient safety, child safeguarding and ethical standards during clinical teaching.
  • Support compliance with applicable PMDC standards and maintain departmental readiness for PMDC inspections and assessments.
  • Participate in academic meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum review, clinical protocols, departmental planning and continuous improvement of paediatric dental services.
  • Perform other academic, clinical, research and administrative duties assigned by the HOD, Dean, Principal or competent authority.

Qualification

Job Description
