Job summary

Pakistan Digital Authority seeks a competent accounting professional to support day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and period-end closing while aiding SAP implementation and ongoing operations.

You will prepare financial and management reports, maintain instrumentations, and ensure accurate data for audits. Strong Excel skills and ERP familiarity are essential; prior SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce, or part CA/ACCA/CMA.

Responsibilities

• Record and review accounting transactions with supporting documents and account codes.
• Maintain schedules for payables, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other accounts.
• Prepare bank, ledger, vendor, and other balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly closing and preparation of the trial balance.
• Compile budget-versus-actual reports, expenditure summaries, and management-reporting data.
• Assist in preparing annual financial statements and audit schedules.
• Support SAP data cleansing, opening-balance preparation, testing, and resolution of issues.
• Maintain organized accounting records and follow up on missing information with relevant departments.

Reports to: Senior Manager – Accounting, Reporting & Analysis

Position purpose

Support day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, period-end closing, and preparation of financial and management reports, including work required for SAP implementation and ongoing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Record and review accounting transactions with appropriate supporting documents and account codes.
• Maintain schedules for payables, advances, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other assigned accounts.
• Prepare bank, ledger, vendor, and other balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly closing and preparation of the trial balance.
• Compile budget-versus-actual reports, expenditure summaries, and management-reporting data.
• Assist in preparing annual financial statements and audit schedules.
• Support SAP data cleansing, opening-balance preparation, testing, and resolution of transaction or reporting issues.
• Maintain organized accounting records and follow up on missing information with relevant departments.

Educational qualification

Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce, or part qualification in CA, ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent professional accounting program.

Preferred: Completed professional accounting qualification or a master’s degree in accounting or finance.

Experience and skills

At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including reconciliations and financial reporting. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software or an ERP system are required; SAP experience is preferred.
