Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Media handling: load/unload vinyl, flex, canvas, sticker and textile rolls and assist alignment/feeding.
• Material prep: cut media to size, tape and prepare material for printing.
• Print assistance: support main operator during jobs, monitor prints and change ink cartridges.
• Finishing work: trim, weed, cut, laminate, eyelet punch and stitching support after printing.
• Job movement: move printed material to drying area, finishing section or packing.
• Daily cleaning: clean machine table, wipers, capping station and printer area.

Job description

We need an Assistant Printer Operator to support our print floor — handling media, preparing material, assisting during print runs and taking care of finishing work afterwards. This is a good entry point for someone who wants to learn digital printing properly, since you will work alongside the main operator and gradually pick up nozzle checks, test prints and machine care. Willingness to learn matters more here than prior software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Media Handling: Load and unload vinyl, flex, canvas, sticker and textile rolls, and help with alignment and feeding
• Material Prep: Cut media to size, do taping, and prepare material for printing
• Print Assistance: Assist the main operator in starting jobs, monitoring prints and changing ink cartridges
• Finishing Work: Handle trimming, weeding, cutting, lamination, eyelet punching and stitching support after printing
• Job Movement: Move printed material to the drying area, finishing section or packing
• Daily Cleaning: Clean the machine table, wipers, capping station and dust from the printer area
• Ink & Waste Management: Refill ink and solvent, dispose of waste ink properly, and keep the area clean
• Basic Checks: Do nozzle checks and test prints under operator supervision
• Report Issues: Inform the operator or supervisor immediately on seeing banding, head strike or errors
• QC Help: Check prints with the operator for obvious defects such as scratches, lines and colour patches
• Safety: Wear gloves, mask and safety shoes, and handle solvent, ink and chemicals carefully
• 5S: Keep the work area, tools and media stock organised
• Material Control: Help count media usage and inform the store when stock runs low
