Responsibilities

• Shrinkage Test: run wash tests before bulk printing where required.
• Preparation Check: ensure fabric is heat-set, calendared and oil-free for printing.
• Print Quality QC: assess colour matching, bleeding, banding and misregistration.
• Defect Marking: mark defects and report metreage.
• Wash Fastness: perform rub and wash tests as needed.
• Shade Approval: match shade to client sample under standard light.
• Final Inspection: apply 4-point or 10-point system and total points per 100 yards.

The role uses the 4-point or 10-point system for final inspection, along with width, GSM, shrinkage and colour fastness checks. Good eyesight, patience and honesty in reporting defects are the core of this job.

Responsibilities

• Roll Inspection: Check incoming fabric rolls — polyester, cotton, viscose and blends — for printing
• Defect Checking: Look for holes, stains, weaving faults, colour shading, creases, needle marks and slubs
• Width & GSM Check: Measure fabric width and weight and match against the job card
• Shrinkage Test: Run wash tests to check shrinkage before bulk printing where required
• Preparation Check: Ensure fabric is heat-set, calendared and free from oil or wax for smooth printing
• Print Quality QC: Check printed fabric for colour matching, bleeding, banding, misregistration and head strike
• Defect Marking: Mark defective areas with chalk or tape and report the meterage
• Wash Fastness: Carry out rub and wash tests to check colour fastness against client requirements
• Shade Approval: Match the printed shade with the client‑approved sample or Pantone under standard light
• Final Inspection: Apply the 4-point or 10-point system and calculate points per 100 yards
• Fabric Handling: Roll, fold and store fabric properly to avoid creases and damage
• Machine Support: Help the operator load fabric on the printer and take it off after printing
• Waste Control: Minimise fabric wastage during inspection and handling
