Job summary

Arwen Tech in Karachi is seeking an Application Monitoring Developer with hands-on experience in ASP.NET or Java, front-end JavaScript frameworks, and SQL Server. You will implement and manage APM tools like Cisco AppDynamics and Dynatrace to monitor performance and troubleshoot issues across enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in application development, monitoring, and support, with Telco or financial services exposure preferred.

Qualifications

Strong development experience in ASP.NET or Java.
Hands-on with APM tools, esp. AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
Understanding of monitoring concepts, metrics, dashboards, alerts.
Experience in Telco or financial services preferred.
Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

Summary of Job Profile: We are seeking a skilled Application Monitoring Developer with strong application development, database, and Application Performance Management (APM) experience. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with ASP.NET or Java, front-end JavaScript frameworks, SQL Server database management, and enterprise application monitoring tools such as Cisco AppDynamics (AppD) and Dynatrace. The candidate will be responsible for supporting enterprise applications, performing application monitoring, troubleshooting, log analysis, performance optimization, and ensuring smooth operation of applications and their dependencies. Experience within the Telecommunications (Telco) sector or financial institutions is preferred, with a strong understanding of enterprise-scale applications and critical business systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and support custom applications using ASP.NET or Java.
Utilize JavaScript libraries/frameworks (e.g., JQuery, Dojo, AngularJS) for front-end development and application enhancements.
Implement and manage application monitoring using APM tools such as Cisco AppDynamics (AppD) and Dynatrace.
Monitor application performance, availability, user experience, and dependencies across enterprise environments.
Analyze real user monitoring data and extract performance metrics to identify application bottlenecks.
Perform application performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
Conduct application log analysis to identify and resolve performance and operational issues.
Review and optimize SQL queries and ensure database performance.
Monitor SQL Server maintenance activities and troubleshoot failed processes.
Provide support and maintenance for custom-built enterprise applications.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, and operations teams to improve system reliability.
Support proactive monitoring, alert management, and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s) required to successfully perform the job:

Strong programming skills and development experience in ASP.NET or Java.
Practical experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, including Cisco AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
Understanding of application monitoring concepts, performance metrics, dashboards, alerts, and dependency mapping.
Experience supporting applications within Telco environments or financial institutions is preferred.
Proficiency with JavaScript and frameworks like JQuery, Dojo, or AngularJS.
Strong understanding of SQL Server databases, query optimization, and performance monitoring.
Ability to troubleshoot complex application issues, analyze logs, and perform root cause analysis.
Familiarity with SDLC processes and version control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required For The Position

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience in application development, application support, and monitoring roles.
Experience working with enterprise applications in Telecommunications, Banking, Financial Services, or similar critical environments.
Hands-on experience with APM platforms such as Cisco AppDynamics and Dynatrace is required.
