We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our infrastructure and platform engineering team. The successful candidate will help maintain, automate, and improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based services and applications.
This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in Azure DevOps, cloud platforms, Terraform, and Kubernetes, who is eager to develop their skills in infrastructure automation, monitoring, incident management, and platform operations.
- Support the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure.
- Assist in managing cloud resources across development, testing, and production environments.
- Participate in infrastructure provisioning and configuration activities.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Assist in automating repetitive operational tasks and deployment processes.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform.
- Support Kubernetes cluster operations and application deployments.
- Monitor containerized workloads and troubleshoot deployment issues.
- Assist with cluster maintenance, upgrades, and configuration management.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
- Investigate alerts and participate in incident response activities.
- Help identify root causes of issues and implement preventive measures.
- Work closely with development, QA, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Participate in technical documentation and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the platform.
- Basic hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with a public cloud platform (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Understanding of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
- Knowledge of Docker and container concepts.
- Understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
- Basic scripting skills in one or more languages such as: PowerShell, Bash, Python
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging concepts.
- Understanding of: TCP/IP, DNS, Load balancing, Firewalls, HTTP/HTTPS
- 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar job role, preferably in a fast-paced, data driven environment, delivering value quickly and interactively.
- Hands‑on experience using Microsoft BI Stack especially Fabric Power BI plus DAX, pbit and SSRS.
- Hands‑on experience of BI Concepts including ETL Pipelines, designing warehousing, marts, deploy and maintain solutions in different environment and providing business analysis that adds value.
- Strong SQL + Python skills.
- Experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics).
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps CI/CD for ETL deployments.
- Familiarity with BI tools (ideally BI thread) and data governance.
- Experience of data technologies, especially in the Microsoft stack, with a great grasp of SQL and/or Python (Flask).
- Experience of using Azure services including Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, DevOps, Power BI, ML Studio, Databricks, stream analytics, Terraform.
- Experience of good SDLC practices: source control (git), CI/CD, test and release processes.
- Any experience using any of the following would also be a bonus in our environment: Dynamics CRM, Rabbit MQ, Hubspot, C# .NET development or legacy Microsoft data technologies (SSIS, SSRS).
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure certifications such as: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Administrator (AZ-104).
- Exposure to: Git version control, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Application Insights.
- Understanding of SRE principles including: SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets, Incident Management.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and best practices.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Successfully support production and non‑production environments.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and automation initiatives.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Terraform‑based infrastructure deployments.
- Support Kubernetes workloads with minimal supervision.
- Participate effectively in incident response and post‑incident reviews.
- Improve system reliability through monitoring and operational enhancements.
- 1.5 – 3years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Support, or a related technical role.
- Practical exposure to Azure DevOps, cloud services, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Experience supporting production cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
