About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor (US)to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands‑on bookkeeping and accounting experience who is ready to take on a leadership position.
The successful candidate will manage the accounting operations for multiple US‑based clients while supervising a team of bookkeeping specialists. This individual will be responsible for delegating work, reviewing team deliverables, ensuring accuracy, meeting deadlines, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The role reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle for multiple US‑based clients.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Perform month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
- Review and analyze financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Team Management & Review
- Review the work completed by junior accountants and bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Assign daily bookkeeping tasks to team members based on workload and priorities.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to the team.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
- Escalate complex accounting matters to the Accounting Manager when required.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Manage vendor bills and ensure timely processing of payments.
- Oversee customer invoicing and collections.
- Review AP and AR transactions completed by the team.
Bank & Account Reconciliations
- Review bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Payroll Review
- Payroll processing for assigned clients.
- Ensure payroll entries are accurately recorded and compliant with applicable regulations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance and identify unusual variances.
- Support clients with financial insights and reporting requirements.
Client Communication
- Respond to client queries professionally and proactively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain missing financial information and documentation.
Process Improvement
- Help improve internal accounting processes and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and quality standards.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CA, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably serving US‑based clients.
- Experience leading or supervising a team of accountants or bookkeepers is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
