Job Summary
The Team Lead - Workforce Management is responsible for leading centralized scheduling operations and optimizing workforce coverage across supported healthcare departments. This role ensures accurate schedule development, staffing efficiency, compliance with workforce policies and high-quality service delivery.
Operating within a Global Business Services environment, this position partners with U.S. healthcare leaders and cross-functional teams to support effective workforce planning, scheduling accuracy and operational performance.
What you'll do
Lead and coach a team of scheduling professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Monitor team performance and address performance concerns through coaching, feedback and development plans.
Ensure scheduling services meet established service levels and customer service expectations.
Collaborate with department leaders to develop balanced schedules that meet coverage requirements, staffing standards and skill mix needs.
Oversee schedule creation and maintenance within workforce management systems to ensure accurate and timely staffing coverage.
Identify staffing gaps and communicate workforce needs to department leadership and recruitment partners.
Manage schedule adjustments, shift coverage requests and ongoing schedule optimization activities.
Ensure compliance with approved pay practices, workforce policies and organizational procedures.
Support premium pay administration and critical staffing incentive programs while maintaining policy adherence.
Review and promote timecard accuracy and workforce management data integrity.
Serve as an escalation point for scheduling inquiries and workforce management concerns.
Coordinate onboarding communications and scheduling-related support for new hires.
Develop and maintain scheduling process documentation, job aids and training materials.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational trends and provide workforce reporting to leadership.
Partner with labor relations and leadership teams to support workforce compliance and minimize organizational risk where applicable.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scheduling effectiveness, operational efficiency and service quality.
What you'll bring
Experience
3+ years of experience using staffing or workforce scheduling software within a 24/7 healthcare environment required.
3+ years of experience in a lead, supervisory or people leadership role required.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams required.
Experience with workforce planning, schedule optimization and staffing coordination required.
Experience using UKG Workforce Management preferred.
Knowledge of workforce scheduling principles, reporting and operational performance metrics required.
Knowledge of U.S. healthcare workforce operations preferred.
Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field required.
Certifications
UKG Workforce Management Certification preferred upon hire and required within 12 months of hire.
