Job summary

IT By Design (ITBD) is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Support Engineer to join our technical team. You will provide hands-on support and systems administration across client environments, focusing on Windows, Active Directory, networking, and security.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in IT support or related roles, is proactive, and can manage multiple technical issues while helping non-technical users. MSP environment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in IT Support, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows and Active Directory/LDAP.
• Solid knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with endpoint support and management.
• Knowledge of IT security, antivirus, patching, firewalls, and system monitoring.
• Experience with RMM or remote monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 technical support and troubleshooting across client environments.
• Administer and maintain Windows operating systems and Active Directory/LDAP.
• Manage user accounts, authentication, access, and permissions.
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, networking, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain endpoints, servers, and systems using RMM and monitoring tools.
• Perform system patching, antivirus management, and other security-related activities.
• Assist with firewall maintenance, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Perform OS installations, upgrades, software deployment, and system maintenance.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and other IT hardware.
