We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, month‑end close, cash management, compliance, and accounting team performance. The ideal candidate has strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience and a background in multi‑entity accounting, consolidations, intercompany transactions, inventory, revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and management reporting.
The Controller will ensure accurate financial data, strengthen controls, resolve accounting discrepancies, and improve processes in an evolving accounting environment.
9am-6pm; Stafford TX (TBA)
Own the month‑end and year‑end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cutoffs, and financial statements.
Manage QBO, including cleanup, error correction, system reconciliation, and process improvements.
Oversee multi‑entity accounting, consolidations, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and due‑to/due‑from accounts.
Ensure proper revenue recognition and ASC 606 compliance, including shipment and delivery cutoffs.
Oversee inventory, COGS, WIP, receiving/shipping cutoffs, and inventory‑to‑GL reconciliations.
Manage AP/AR, collections, vendor payments, cash management, bank reconciliations, and short‑term cash forecasting.
Oversee payroll accounting, reconciliations, liabilities, allocations, and accruals.
Manage sales tax compliance, filings, registrations, exemptions, and coordination with tax providers.
Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and management reports and analyze financial variances.
Lead, review, and develop the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, approval workflows, and accounting processes.
Coordinate with CPAs, tax advisors, auditors, banks, payroll providers, and other external partners.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar.
Strong hands‑on QuickBooks Online experience.
Proven multi‑entity accounting and consolidation experience.
Strong knowledge of month‑end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
Working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue cutoff.
Experience with inventory accounting, COGS, AP/AR, cash management, payroll accounting, and sales tax compliance.
Experience managing and developing accounting staff.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to independently identify and resolve discrepancies in an evolving accounting environment.
Internal controls and segregation of duties experience.
Accounting policy/SOP development.
ERP integration, automation, or process improvement experience.
Experience working with external CPA, tax, and audit firms.
