Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Watershed Management Specialist to lead and support the preparation, design, and implementation of integrated watershed management and water resources projects. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise and regional experience, ideally within the Philippines and Southeast Asia, to help deliver sustainable and effective water resource solutions.

Job Description

The Watershed Management Specialist will be responsible for providing technical leadership across all phases of watershed and water resources project development from planning and design through to implementation and monitoring. This role requires strong analytical and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, government agencies, and local stakeholders in delivering integrated, sustainable water resource management solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the preparation and design of integrated watershed management and water resources project plans
• Conduct technical assessments, including hydrological, environmental, and socio-economic analyses relevant to watershed and water resource planning
• Develop project proposals, technical reports, and design documents in line with best practices and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment with local needs and policies
• Support implementation and monitoring of watershed management activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project team members as needed
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of watershed management practices within the organization

Qualifications

• At least a graduate degree (post-graduate degree preferred) in Watershed Management, Water Resource Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Ideally 7 years of experience in the preparation, design, and implementation of integrated watershed management or water resources projects
• Country experience in the Philippines and within Southeast Asia preferred (local and international experience)
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
