Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment including pumps, blowers, aeration systems, clarifiers, filters, dosing systems, and sludge-handling equipment.
• Monitor treatment processes and adjust operating parameters to maintain performance.
• Collect wastewater and treated-water samples and perform routine tests (pH, DO, turbidity, etc.).
• Record equipment readings, chemical usage, laboratory results, flow rates, and other data.
• Inspect tanks, pipelines, pumps, valves, electrical controls, and other equipment.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Monitor chemical storage and dosing systems for safe handling.
• Identify abnormal conditions or equipment failures and report promptly.
• Assist with sludge dewatering, handling, storage, and disposal activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping at the facility.
• Follow company procedures and safety and environmental requirements.
• Maintain logs, checklists, and operational reports.
• Assist with inspections, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, spills, and other incidents.
• Perform other duties related to wastewater treatment operations.

Job description

The Wastewater Facility Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment systems to ensure that wastewater is properly treated and discharged in accordance with applicable environmental, health, and safety standards. The position monitors treatment processes, performs routine inspections and testing, maintains accurate operational records, and responds to equipment or process abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, blowers, aeration systems, clarifiers, filters, dosing systems, and sludge-handling equipment.

• Monitor wastewater treatment processes and adjust operating parameters as necessary to maintain proper treatment performance.

• Collect wastewater and treated-water samples and perform routine tests such as pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and other required parameters.

• Record equipment readings, chemical usage, laboratory results, flow rates, and other operational data accurately.

• Conduct routine inspections of tanks, pipelines, pumps, valves, electrical controls, and other facility equipment.

• Perform basic preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting of equipment.

• Monitor chemical storage and dosing systems and ensure chemicals are handled safely.

• Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment failures, leaks, or other issues and report them promptly to the supervisor or maintenance personnel.

• Assist with sludge dewatering, handling, storage, and disposal activities.

• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping throughout the wastewater treatment facility.

• Follow company procedures and applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety requirements.

• Maintain proper documentation, logbooks, checklists, and operational reports.

• Assist with inspections, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance activities.

• Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, spills, and other treatment-process incidents.

• Perform other duties related to wastewater treatment operations as assigned.

Qualifications
