Job Summary
The Waste Water Operator is in-charge of the daily operations of sewage treatment plant and sewer network ensuring efficiency and compliance to applicable laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
PLANTOPERATION EFFICIENCY
- Operate and monitor sewage treatment plantequipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and chemical treatment systems, toensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep sewagetreatment plant equipment and systems in good working condition.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities accordingto established schedules to prevent equipment failures and prolong the lifespanof plant assets.
- Escalate immediately to immediate headany issues or abnormalities and/or parts for immediate replacement andprocurement as required for repairs and maintenance activities.
- Monitor andmaintain appropriate levels of chemicals and other treatment agents used in thesewage treatment process.
SEWERNETWORK EFFICIENCY
- Conduct inspections of sewer lines, manholes, andother infrastructure components to assess their condition and identify anysigns of damage, blockages, or leaks.
- Perform sewer line cleaning and clearing activitiesusing specialized equipment such as jet vacuums and rodding machines to removedebris, roots, and other obstructions.
- Respond promptly to sewer system emergencies, suchas overflows or backups, and take appropriate measures to contain spills,mitigate environmental impacts, and restore normal operation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to plan andexecute sewer system upgrades, expansions, or rehabilitation projects asneeded.
WATER QUALITY COMPLIANCE and REPORTING
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations,maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance measures, including data oneffluent quality, chemical usage, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and submit reports to immediate headregularly.
Technical Competencies and Skills
- Must be certified Industrial Electrician, with 2-3 years’ experience exposure to industrial maintenance.
- Experienced Welder/Mechanic
- Valid Driver’s License (4 Wheels)
- Pleasing personality and good communication skills.

Education, Trainings and Licenses Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in wastewater treatment, environmental science
