FDC Misamis Power Corporation is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to responsibly run the Water Treatment Plant, monitor quality, and maintain safe operations to deliver good quality water for boiler and use.
The role requires knowledge of water chemistry, regulatory awareness, and the ability to troubleshoot pump and valve issues, with at least 2 years of plant experience and a chemical engineering background preferred. Safe practices and ISO compliance are emphasized.
JOB SUMMARY:
Water Treatment Operator operates all systems in the Water Treatment Plant safely, efficiently, and properly. Duties involve running of minor and major equipment in the area, observe abnormalities and report to supervisor, prepares chemical solution for operation and records log. He is responsible for the overall proper operation of the Water Treatment Plant to produce good quality water for boiler and other utilization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mainly operates all systems in the Water Treatment Plant safely, efficiently, and properly to produce continuously good water quality.
DUTY STATEMENTS:
Implement standard procedures in the operations of Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants as directed by WTP Supervisor and ensure normal operating conditions of all systems.
Operate the Water Treatment Plant, monitor online the water quality and conditions of all systems and make necessary adjustments to maintain its normal operations and acceptable ranges.
Performs timely and correct regeneration of the units, and backwashing of filtration system through following standard operating procedures to maintain good quality water.
Accomplishes operations log at periodic intervals through manual and electronic to build important trends as reference in the future.
Coordinate to WTP Supervisor any operational issues and corresponding preventive maintenance of Water Treatment equipment, troubleshoot minor problems and report malfunctioned equipment to the immediate superior for proper action.
Coordinates with Central Control Room during chemical delivery through phone or radio to facilitate chemical unloading safely and securely.
Assists the maintenance personnel during servicing and repair activities, performs necessary isolation, ensures areas are safe prior the activity and monitors the progress of any maintenance activities.
Prepares accurately daily operation reports, chemical delivery and chemical consumption monitoring and informs immediate superior for necessary chemical withdrawals and deliveries.
Conducts tests on pH, turbidity, and conductivity on samples from each system in Water Treatment processes.
Always maintain good housekeeping & 5S practices within its area of concern and ensure compliance to ISO standard requirements.

Follows Plant Safety Rules and Guidelines through always wearing of PPEs in the work area to prevent and avoid work related issues.
Coordinates with Supervisors in complying with Safety requirements before the task is done to avoid safety related issues during at work.
Participates in Safety drills and seminars to enhance Safety-related skills to provide assistance during emergency and in other cases when needed.
Participates actively in health and safety programs including audits, safety inspections, investigation of incidents, hazard identification, risk assessments and any safety improvement initiatives.
Reports immediately and taking measures proactively to reduce all workplace hazards and accidents.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Knowledge in Water chemistry and related topics
Knowledge in Water Treatment Operations and its different system
Knowledge on Philippine regulations concerning Water and Wastewater
Have basic troubleshooting skills on pump and valve abnormalities

EDUCATION, TRAININGS, LICENSES REQUIRED:
EDUCATION: Graduate of any 4-year course; With Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is an advantage
EXPERIENCE: Has at least 2 years’ experience in Water Treatment Plant operations
LICENSE REQUIRED: Licensed Chemical Engineer
