John Clements Consultants, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Transition Project Manager to lead and support complex transition initiatives across global business services.
You will oversee initiation, planning, execution, and knowledge transfer, ensuring go-live readiness and stabilization while maintaining strong governance and clear scope boundaries. Key responsibilities
Leads and supports transition projects throughout the full project lifecycle-from initiation, planning, and execution through knowledge transfer, go-live, stabilization, closure, and operational handoff.
Defines and manages project scope, objectives, deliverables, success measures, roles, responsibilities, and governance while maintaining clear project boundaries.
Develops and manages integrated project plans, including schedules, milestones, resources, dependencies, readiness activities, and critical transition checkpoints.
Identifies and engages stakeholders, assigns responsibilities, and facilitates coordination among business leaders, transferring and receiving teams, process owners, technology partners, and change management teams.
Manages project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and changes, assessing their impact on scope, timelines, resources, service delivery, quality, and operational readiness.
Leads knowledge transfer and process-readiness activities, including process walkthroughs, documentation validation, work shadowing, reverse shadowing, proficiency assessments, certification, and readiness signoffs.
Ensures operating procedures, process maps, work instructions, controls, training materials, access, technology, and resource requirements are complete, accurate, compliant, and ready for implementation.
Coordinates cutover and go-live execution, including deployment plans, resource coverage, communications, contingency measures, and go-no-go recommendations based on established readiness criteria.
Tracks and reports project and transition performance through KPIs, project status updates, readiness dashboards, and governance reviews; leads hyper-care, issue resolution, and corrective actions until stabilization criteria are achieved.
Completes project closure and transition to steady-state operations, secures stakeholder acceptance, captures lessons learned, and applies transformation and continuous-improvement insights to strengthen future project delivery and transition practices.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required)
3+ years of experience in leading and supporting technical and non-technical projects in global business services/shared services (required)
3+ years of experience in leading and supporting transition projects, including design and execution of Knowledge Transfer strategies, work shadowing models, go-live readiness, and stabilization frameworks, ensuring successful delivery against defined performance, quality, and timeline objectives
Formal training in change management (Prosci/ADKAR), process mining tools (e.g., Celonis, UiPath), Program and Project Management (PPM), Lean Six Sigma (preferred)
Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt), PMP, or PRINCE2 (preferred)
