Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Transition Project Manager with 7-10 years of expertise leading complex, high-impact organizational transitions, client onboarding programs, and large-scale operational ramps. In this role, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end transitions from initial kickoff and discovery through knowledge transfer, parallel runs, target-state deployment, and final handoff to operations. You will serve as the primary bridge between cross-functional teams, executive stakeholders, and external clients to ensure seamless operational continuity, risk mitigation, and SLA alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Define, structure, and execute end-to-end transition roadmaps for large-scale client onboardings, process migrations, or enterprise service transfers.
- Large-Scale Ramp Management: Oversee multi-phase workforce, technical, and process ramping, ensuring headcount readiness, infrastructure enablement, and operational capacity targets are met on schedule.
- Governance & Methodology: Establish project governance frameworks, communication rhythms, escalation pathways, and change control mechanisms across all phases of the transition life cycle.
- Knowledge Transfer (KT) Tracking: Oversee structured KT programs, Shadow/Reverse-Shadow phases, process documentation (SOPs), and operational readiness assessments.
- Go-Live & Hypercare: Drive formal Go-Live criteria reviews, operational handoffs, and post-launch Hypercare management to ensure smooth stabilization prior to operational sign-off.
- Executive Communication: Lead steering committee meetings, executive status reporting, and transparent risk/issue reporting for key internal and external stakeholders.
- Change Enablement: Partner with Change Management teams to manage organizational impact, cultural alignment, workforce readiness, and stakeholder engagement.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, track, and remediate transition risks, dependency bottlenecks, and operational vulnerabilities before they impact project timelines or service quality.
- Budget & Metric Tracking: Monitor transition budgets, resource utilization, and key delivery milestones. Establish key operational metrics (SLAs/KPIs) for the receiving operational teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Required Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of dedicated Project Management experience specializing in large-scale transitions, operational migrations, client onboarding, or offshore/nearshore process ramping (BPO, IT Services, Shared Services, or Management Consulting background preferred).
- Successfully delivered multi-site, enterprise-level transitions involving 100+ FTE ramps, multi-functional process transfers, or complex technical integrations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Change Management (Prosci) certification strongly preferred.
- Deep familiarity with structured Transition Management frameworks, Waterfall, Agile, and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven success interfacing with executive leaders and enterprise clients.
- Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution, and cross-functional leadership capabilities in high-stakes environments.
Technical & Tool Competencies
- Project Management Tools: Advanced expertise in MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or equivalent PM enterprise platforms.
- Reporting & Visualization: Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or MS Excel for executive dashboards, risk tracking, and ramp velocity metrics.
