The Trading Management Engineer/Analyst is responsible for:
- Preparing and creating operational plans and protocols
- Analyzing day-ahead and day-after trading transactions
- Preparing market compliance submissions
- Recommending process improvement initiatives
- Providing data-driven analysis of market events
- Supporting revenue optimization and process improvements through technical, regulatory, and commercial expertise in the power industry

- Market Evaluation and Surveillance
- Commercial Operations of Conventional Technology
- Commercial Operations of Renewable and Emerging Technologies
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare day-ahead inputs to NMMS, CRSS, and other MGP trading platforms.
- Coordinate day-ahead and day-after operational concerns with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze D+1 and D-1 market dynamics and update operational plans.
- Prepare daily internal market summary reports.
Ancillary Services and Reserve Market
- Prepare day-ahead inputs to AS Web System and Reserve Market Platform.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding reserve operations.
- Prepare daily reserve market reports.
Market Operations Compliance
- Monitor compliance with WESM rules.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for compliance requirements.
- Upload submissions to CPEMS.
Contract Compliance
- Monitor compliance with Power Supply Agreements, RES contracts, and Ancillary Services Agreements.
- Coordinate implementation of MGP contracts.
- Create market bids, offers, customer nominations, and ancillary service nominations.
- Recommend optimization plans for Energy Trading operations.
Market Evaluation and Surveillance
- Analyze market events using technical and commercial tools.
- Monitor competitor bids and offers in energy and reserve markets.
Conventional Technology Commercial Operations
- Conduct studies on commercial capabilities of coal, diesel, and other conventional generation technologies.
Renewable & Emerging Technology Commercial Operations
- Conduct studies on solar, wind, battery, and other emerging technologies, focusing on real-time electricity trading opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields
- Professional Engineering License or equivalent certification
- Either:
- At least 3 years as an Energy Trader or Trading Analyst with WESM Market Management System experience, or
- At least 5 years in the Electric Power Industry with knowledge of EPIRA, Philippine Grid and Distribution Code, WESM Rules, ERC regulations, and Renewable Energy Act
- Advanced spreadsheet and programming skills
- Experience with analytical tools such as:
- Plexos
- I-Pool
- PSSE
- R
- Python
- Matlab
