Job summary

JTI Mongolia is seeking a Trade Marketing Manager to drive channel strategies, lead trade programs, and manage investments that strengthen retail presence and support business growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and distributors to turn market insights into measurable results in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

You will own budgets, oversee a small team, and ensure compliant, data-driven execution with clear performance metrics and robust reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Two years of experience in trade or consumer marketing in a field sales environment is advantageous.
• Native-level Mongolian and English at Upper-Intermediate level or above.
• Strong marketing and sales strategies for FMCG, retail dynamics and key commercial drivers, with analytical and planning skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills; proactive and collaborative approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Power Query), and PowerPoint; ability to create persuasive sales-focused presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement trade channel strategies, retail outlet segmentation and activation plans, aligning investments with channel priorities and business objectives.
• Analyze market trends, sales performance, competitor activities and program results, translating insights into actions to improve execution and efficiency.
• Lead retail census and trade data projects, maintain databases and reporting, support trade research and distributor data exchange, and introduce automation to improve efficiency.
• Plan and control trade marketing budgets, manage contracts and documentation, oversee sales incentive objectives and performance tracking, and ensure compliance and antifraud controls.
• Develop merchandising strategies and manage lifecycle of trade equipment from development to distribution and replacement; ensure brand visibility.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, set performance objectives and foster cross-functional collaboration while complying with local laws and internal standards.

Trade marketing manager

Join our Sales team to drive effective trade marketing execution in Mongolia. You will develop channel strategies, lead trade programs and manage investments that strengthen our retail presence and support business growth. Working with cross-functional teams and distributors, you will turn market insights into measurable results.

Position

As the Trade marketing manager, you will:

• Develop and implement trade channel strategies, retail outlet segmentation and activation plans, aligning field coverage and investments with channel priorities and business objectives
• Analyse market trends, sales performance, competitor activities and program results, translating insights into actions that improve execution, investment efficiency and competitiveness
• Lead retail census and trade data projects, maintain accurate databases and reporting, support trade research and distributor data exchange, and introduce automation to improve efficiency
• Plan and control trade marketing budgets, manage contracts and documentation, oversee sales incentive objectives and performance tracking, and maintain appropriate compliance and anti-fraud controls
• Develop merchandising strategies and manage the full lifecycle of trade equipment, from development and procurement to distribution, placement and replacement, ensuring effective coverage and brand visibility
• Lead, coach and develop team members, set clear performance objectives and foster cross-functional collaboration, demonstrating our Our Way behaviours and ensuring compliance with local legislation and internal standards

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field a master's degree in business administration is an advantage
• At least two years of experience in trade or consumer marketing experience in a field sales team is an advantage
• Native-level Mongolian and English at Upper-Intermediate level or above
• Solid understanding of marketing and sales strategies for fast-moving consumer goods, retail business dynamics and key commercial drivers, supported by strong analytical and planning skills
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to lead projects, prioritize initiatives and make well-reasoned decisions
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, including Power Query, and PowerPoint the ability to create persuasive sales-focused presentations is an advantage
