About the role
We are looking for an experienced Customs & Trade Compliance Executive / Senior Executive to manage customs declarations, trade compliance and regulatory documentation across import, export and transshipment operations. The successful candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations, with practical experience in TradeNet, Portnet, Certificates of Origin (CO), Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation, permit applications and HS Code classification.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit import, export and transshipment declarations via TradeNet
- Handle applications for Certificates of Origin (CO) and FTA certificates, including Form D, Form E, RCEP Certificate of Origin, Form AJ and Chamber Certificate of Origin
- Apply for Controlled Goods and Strategic Goods permits, including CA Permit, Strategic Goods Permit, Transshipment Permit and other applicable regulatory licences and permits
- Review product information, HS Codes, country of origin, destination country and applicable FTAs to determine the correct customs declarations, permits and certificates
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore Customs regulations, trade laws and internal compliance requirements
- Liaise with Singapore Customs, government agencies, chambers of commerce, customers and internal stakeholders on customs and trade-related matters
- Monitor regulatory changes, customs policies and developments relating to FTAs
- Provide professional customs and trade compliance advice to support business operations
- Investigate and resolve customs declaration discrepancies, documentation issues and other operational matters
- Support other departmental responsibilities and ad hoc assignments as required
About you
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Singapore Customs / Trade Compliance experience
- Strong hands-on experience with TradeNet and Portnet systems
- Good knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations, import/export procedures and customs documentation
- Experience handling Certificates of Origin and FTA applications, particularly Form D, Form E, RCEP, Form AJ and Chamber CO
- Familiar with Controlled Goods and Strategic Goods regulations and permit applications, including CA Permit and Strategic Goods Permit
- Good understanding of HS Code classification, Rules of Origin, Import / Export / Transshipment requirements and International trade compliance
- Able to independently manage customs declarations and troubleshoot customs-related issues
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
