Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Power and Third Rail Technician to conduct routine visual inspections and preventive maintenance across power systems and third-rail equipment for the MRT7 project. This role covers bi-weekly transformer checks, monthly switchgear reviews, and long-term inspections at 3- and 5-year intervals to ensure system integrity.

The technician will perform detailed inspections of transformers, rectifiers, and high-speed circuit breakers, adhering to strict safety protocols

Qualifications

Certification on Vocational Course/s or Diploma in Technology-related fields.
Engineering graduates (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Electronics) are acceptable.

Responsibilities

Execute systematic maintenance for high-voltage and traction power equipment.
Conduct visual inspections of power systems and transformers for thermal/operational status.
Perform visual assessments of switchgear and third-rail infrastructure.
Carry out detailed inspections and cleaning of switchgear systems.
Perform deep-dive inspections of transformers, rectifiers, HSCBs, and third-rail systems.
Manage specialized maintenance for earthing devices and expansion joints at 3- and 5-year intervals.
Address faults through reactive maintenance and initial troubleshooting to restore train service.
