Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Technical Support Engineer in the Philippines to deliver technical support to Americas and Europe customers by phone, email, and live chat. You will analyze requirements, recommend AE products, and perform application testing and lab work to validate performance.

The role includes creating datasheets and application notes, translating docs, and providing training to sales and customers. Strong English, 3+ years in electronics, and power-supply experience are required.

Qualifications

BS Electrical or Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate.
3 years or above electronic product design or related tech-support/customer service experience.
AC/DC and DC/DC power supply, photonics, PCM, ESD, ESVM or other related experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Good interpersonal communication capability and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve Americas and Europe customers via phone, email and live chat, addressing technical and sales-related inquiries for all Advanced Energy products.
Identify, record and resolve incoming technical inquiries clearly and respond on time.
Analyze detailed customer requirements and technical specifications, including input/output parameters and power ratings.
Recommend optimal AE products and peripheral solutions to meet customer requirements.
Provide competitor cross-reference recommendations and track sales leads to unlock growth.
Work in afternoon and night shifts.
Perform custom application testing and troubleshooting on AE products under customer-defined conditions.
Write application test notes (ATN) and conduct online customer meetings with live demonstrations.
Conduct verification testing for new products to validate benchmarks.
Perform head-to-head testing against competitors and contribute to internal reference library.
Circuit & PCB design for product development: test and document peripheral circuits; assist PCB layouts and mechanical drawings.
Prototype and rework: PCB soldering and component-level rework.
Conduct EMC compliance testing (CE, RE, EFT, Surge, etc.).
Operate lab equipment (Chroma AC/DC source, power meter, oscilloscope).
Draft datasheets with Product Marketing, and prepare Technical Reference Notes (TRN).
Generate Application Notes detailing product usage and design methodologies.
Translate technical documentation into different languages.
Generate short technical videos with scripting and editing.
Provide product, demo and application training to Sales, FAE, distributors and customers.
