Job summary

Advanced Energy in the Philippines is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to assist customers in the Americas and Europe with technical and sales inquiries, perform application testing, and support lab activities.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Electronics and Communications Engineering, 3+ years in electronic product design or tech support, strong problem solving, and excellent English. You will prepare datasheets, TRNs, and notes, translate docs, and help train sales and distributors.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical or Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate.
• 3+ years electronic product design or tech-support/customer service experience.
• AC/DC and DC/DC power supply, photonics, PCM, ESD, ESVM or related experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good written & oral English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve Americas and Europe customers via phone, email and live chat, addressing technical and sales inquiries for all Advanced Energy products.
• Identify, record and resolve incoming technical inquiries clearly and respond on time.
• Analyze detailed customer requirements and technical specifications, including input/output parameters, power ratings, dimensions, and operational characteristics.
• Recommend optimal AE products and peripheral solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Provide competitor cross-reference, gather market/app intelligence, and track sales leads.
• Perform custom application testing and troubleshooting on AE products under varying conditions; write ATNs.
• Conduct online customer meetings and live demonstrations to present product performance.

Responsibilities

• Technical Call Center Service
  • Serve Americas and Europe customers via phone, email and live chat, addressing technical and sales-related inquiries for all Advanced Energy products.
  • Identify, record and resolve incoming technical inquiries clearly and response on time accordingly.
  • Analyze detailed customer requirements and technical specifications, including input/output parameters, power ratings, dimensions, and operational characteristics.
  • Recommend optimal AE products and peripheral solutions best suited to meet customer requirements
  • Provide competitor cross-reference recommendations, gather market/application intelligence, and track sales leads to unlock potential growth.
  • Require to work in afternoon and night shifts
• Application Testing
  • Perform custom application testing and troubleshooting on AE products under various customer-defined conditions. Write application test note (ATN).
  • Conduct online customer meetings (Live Demo) and perform live technical demonstrations on camera to present real-time product performance and specifications.
  • Conduct verification testing for new products to validate functional and performance benchmarks.
  • Perform head-to-head comparison testing between AE and competitor products, contributing to the development and maintenance of the internal reference library.
• Application Testing Lab
  • Circuit & PCB Design for product: Design, test, and document peripheral application circuits; assist with PCB layouts and mechanical drawings.
  • Prototyping & Rework: Perform PCB soldering and component-level rework based on instructions from Design Engineers.
  • Conduct EMC compliance testing (CE, RE, EFT, Surge, etc.).
  • Proficient in operating lab equipment, such as Chroma AC/DC source, power meter, oscilloscope, etc.
• Technical Documentation
  • Datasheets: Collaborate with Product Marketing to draft, update, and maintain official product datasheets using Adobe InDesign.
  • Technical Reference Note (TRN): Coordinate with Design and Product Marketing teams to perform bench verification of product specifications and generate comprehensive Technical Reference Notes.
  • Application Note: Generate targeted technical documentation detailing specific product usage, application guides, and design methodologies.
  • Localization & Translation: Translate technical documentation into different languages, including product datasheets, application notes, and technical reference notes online.
• Technical Video
  • Generate short technical Video with scriptwriting and editing skill
• Training
  • Provide Products, Demo and and Application training to Sales, FAE, distributors and customers

Qualifications

• BS Electrical or Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate
• 3 years or above electronic product design or related tech-support/customer service experience
• AC/DC and DC/DC power supply, photonics, PCM, ESD, ESVM or other related experience preferred.
