Job Description
The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and business development of solar panel systems for residential and commercial clients. The role involves hands‑on technical work, adherence to safety protocols, timely reporting, and supporting sales initiatives by identifying potential leads during site work and providing basic technical input for client consultations.
This is a full‑time position with opportunities for training and commission‑based incentives.
Responsibilities
- Lead in the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of solar panels, including rack mounts for residential and commercial clients.
- Able to perform work in diverse conditions (e.g. rooftops, attics, crawl spaces, and hot environments while adhering to safety protocols and using proper PPE).
- Conduct site inspections to assess the suitability for installing our solar water system, including evaluation of required water and electrical line provisions, and other site conditions that may affect installation. Provide recommendations based on findings.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on service issues, repair jobs completed, and liquidation of expenses incurred (template to be provided).
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate head.
Primary Function: Technical Operations
- This role is primarily technical in nature, requiring hands‑on expertise in solar system installation and maintenance.
Secondary Function: Business Development and Sales Support
- Initiate business development by identifying potential clients or opportunities during fieldwork and referring them to the sales team. Provide basic technical assistance during client discussions, as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of any BS in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or any related technical course, with proven experience in installation, repair, or maintenance (solar/electrical background an advantage but not required).
- Physically fit and able to work at heights, rooftops, crawl spaces, and other field environments.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and know how to drive a four‑wheel vehicle.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to strictly follow PPE and site protocols.
- Familiar with basic tools, wiring, meters, and troubleshooting.
- Able to prepare project and technical reports, as well as expense and liquidation reports, using prescribed templates. Basic MS Word and Excel skills are an advantage. May also be assigned to prepare other reports as required.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Willing to travel or be assigned within Visayas Region; applicants residing in Cebu are preferred.
