Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead data centre structural design across APAC. Based in Singapore, you will oversee reinforced concrete, steel frames, mezzanines and heavy equipment platforms, addressing vibration isolation, seismic resilience and critical point loads from UPS, gensets and chillers, while coordinating with BIM-enabled disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in industrial or data centre projects, PE/Chartered status

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years designing structures for industrial, logistics, or data centre projects.
• Proficient in reinforced concrete, structural steel, and geotechnical interaction.
• Experience with heavy equipment loading and mission-critical structural requirements.
• Proficient in structural analysis software, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.

Job description

Job Summary

Lead structural design for hyperscale data centre buildings across APAC.

Based in Singapore, you will oversee steel frames, concrete structures, mezzanines, and heavy equipment platforms - solving complex loading challenges including vibration isolation, seismic resilience, and mission-critical point loads from UPS, generators, and chillers while coordinating across BIM-enabled disciplines.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design for data centre buildings: steel frames, concrete, mezzanines, and equipment platforms.

Design for heavy point loads, vibration isolation, and seismic requirements from UPS, generators, and chillers.

Produce and review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications per Eurocodes and Singapore Standards.

Coordinate structural models with architectural and MEP disciplines via BIM.

Review contractor submittals, steel shop drawings, and precast proposals; witness critical lifts.

Support value engineering on foundations, super-flat slabs, and lateral systems to optimise buildability and cost.

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors across multiple newbuild projects to ensure structural integrity and programme alignment.

Requirements

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; PE (Structural) or Chartered status preferred.

10+ years designing structures for industrial, logistics, or data centre projects.

Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and geotechnical interaction.

Proficient in structural analysis software, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.

Experience with heavy equipment loading and mission-critical structural requirements.
