Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited is seeking a Technical Lead (DC Hall Hot Aisle Containment) for APAC data centre projects. Based in Singapore, you will act as the client's HAC authority—reviewing designs, driving standardisation, and supporting construction, commissioning and handover to ensure world-class airflow management and cooling efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Architectural Engineering; PE or Chartered status preferred.
• 15+ years in mechanical design/delivery for data centres or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of data centre cooling environments, airflow management strategies, and containment systems.
• Experience designing, reviewing, and optimising HAC systems and their interfaces.
• Familiarity with OPRs, commissioning processes, defect management, and handover activities.
• Proficient in Revit, BIM 360/ACC, Google Workspace, and related platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to manage multiple deliverables under schedule pressure.
• Full fluency in English.

• Maintain issue logs, risk registers, and technical action plans; escalate critical issues.

• Update owner standard documentation as design improvements are implemented.

Technical Lead (DC Hall Hot Aisle Containment) — Data Centre Projects (APAC)

Job Summary

Provide technical leadership for Data Centre Hall Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) systems across newbuild developments in APAC. Based in Singapore, you will act as the client's primary HAC authority — reviewing designs, driving standardisation, and supporting construction, commissioning, and handover to ensure world-class airflow management and cooling efficiency across mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

HAC Design & Standardisation

Review and guide HAC system designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations for compliance with client standards, OPRs, design narratives, and applicable codes.

Plan, develop, and standardise HAC engineering packages, specifications, and design guidelines for consistent implementation across multiple projects.

Provide hands-on input to detailed design development, with critical reviews of mechanical and electrical interfaces.

Identify opportunities for system optimisation, energy efficiency, value engineering, and constructability enhancement; document and present recommendations for technology adoption and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery & Quality

Perform technical reviews of HAC systems through design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases.

Conduct QA/QC peer reviews using established checklists, trackers, and collaboration platforms (Google Workspace, BIM 360/ACC, 3Dx, AODocs).

Support defect identification, punch-list management, final inspections, and engineering close-out alongside QA and Commissioning teams.

Maintain issue logs, risk registers, and technical action plans; escalate critical issues affecting scope, cost, schedule, quality, or operations.

Stakeholder Coordination

Act as key technical liaison between client teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors for all HAC matters.

Collaborate with CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Commissioning, Operations, EHS, and Network teams to align all project interfaces.

Update owner standard documentation as design improvements are implemented.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Architectural Engineering; PE or Chartered status preferred.

15+ years in mechanical design/delivery for data centres, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects (hyperscale experience highly desirable).

Strong knowledge of data centre cooling environments, airflow management strategies, and containment systems.

Proven experience designing, reviewing, and optimising HAC systems and their mechanical/electrical interfaces.

Familiarity with OPRs, commissioning processes, defect management, and handover activities.

Proficient in Revit, BIM 360/ACC, Google Workspace, and related collaboration platforms.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to manage multiple deliverables under schedule pressure.
